Communicating the Lived Experience of Heat in Social Housing
Urban heat a result of global warming and climate change is an immense environmental and social problem that is challenging the liveability of our cities. As a result, it is society’s most vulnerable communities that are the most impacted. This is a visually designed report aimed at planners, policy-makers and designers has been researched and created through a participatory design framework. Using storytelling and visualisation to capture information about urban heat through the lived experience of social housing residents in Glebe. This report also highlights where potential design interventions could be implemented to help make our communities ‘climate ready’ and ‘climate resilient’.

'Beyond Design As Usual' - 24 November 2022 – 21 January 2023
Australian Design Centre Exhibition Sydney.
Beyond design as usual provides a professional exhibition opportunity for students completing studies in social innovation, visual communication, photography, product design, and fashion and textiles. This exhibition is presented in partnership with the School of Design, University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). This project was selected to be exhibited over the summer at the Australian Design Centre Exhibition Sydney, here are some pictures of the display below.
